The Colors of Skye

Isle of Skye, Scotland, November 2018 - Sheep’s wool clings to a wire fence against dewy blades of green. In the morning we hike uphill on black stones as clouds decay into technicolor rainbows above. Rays illuminate golden lichen plastered on the faces of colossal hills. In the afternoon we descend into a valley and a man in a yellow vest calls to us. “Watch this now...” He lifts a brown leather glove and blows a silver whistle. Two minutes later an orange hawk appears on a gust of wind. Back in town, a group of French tourists smile as I take a picture of the red bridge behind them. // Suggested musical pairing: From the Sea/It Looms by Leyon Vynehall
